First there was Cameron Banga and his Four48 team doing four Zelda's in 48 hours, then there was some other people doing a load of Mario's in a similar time.

Now there is The Speed Gamers who are attempting to beat all the Metroid games ever in 72 hours. So that's:
  • Metroid
  • Metroid Zero mission
  • Metroid II: Return of Samus
  • Metroid Prime1
  • Metroid Prime 2
  • Metroid Prime Hunters
  • Metroid Prime 3
  • Super Metroid
  • Metroid Fusion

In 72 hours, they'll be raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which deals with trying to beat cancer in children. They'll also be giving away prizes at the end of each game, which generally seems to be a copy of the game (VC copy for those in europe (or another VC game of equal value)) but there's also a grand prize of a copy of Metroid Prime 3 signed by the current Retro Studio employees and all you have to do to be within a chance of winning is donate at least $1! That's 50p in real money!

Watch them here. It all kicks off August 15th at 6pm cst that's midnight tonight in real time!

You're about the same as cst. At any rate it's started now and they've already done metroid 1.

What about Metroid Pinball?! They should be playing that tongue.gif

I'm all for these things if they're for charity. I just wonder how much preparation goes into it before hand. D'you think that if they DIDN'T play the games and just gave away all the money they didn't need to spend on electricity they'd raise more money? tongue.gif
